Washington Park fire chief makes court appearance after discharging firearm in O'Fallon

WASHINGTON PARK, Ill. (KSDK) - The Washington Park fire chief is due in court Thursday after allegedly using his gun to send a strong message to his daughter's boyfriend.

Mark Norris is accused of firing three shots into the ground to scare his daughter's boyfriend.

It happened last month at Norris' home in O'Fallon. Police say it happened last month at Norris' home in O'Fallon, when the boy showed up after being to stay away.

Investigators say Norris never pointed the gun at anyone. He was arrested for discharging a firearm within city limits.
