ST. LOUIS (KSDK) - A St. Louis landmark that stood for 65 years in north St. Louis started to be rebuilt Wednesday.
Tillie's Grocery Store was a fixture at the intersection of Garrison and Sheridan Avenues. It seemed destined to be listed in the National Register of Historic Places, but it collapsed during a windstorm in December.
Ten months later, ground was broken on a house on the same site in honor of the store's namesake: Tillie.
