ST. LOUIS (KSDK) - The government shut down has 800,000 federal employees out of work, and millions more Americans mad at Congress.
NewsChannel 5 joined with NBC Thursday to ask what you wanted to say to Congress. We spent a couple of hours outside of Busch recording video messages to Congress from people heading inside to the Cards game.
The opinions we got were all over the map.
We asked everyone to start their video messages with Dear Congress, and then tell us what they think about the government shutdown and about Congress itself. Nobody we spoke with held back.
"Keep her shut down if we don't get what we want," said Oscar "Butch" Hunter. "What that means is we need to get Obamacare straightened out. I'm not against Obamacare. I'm not for it. We've got to get it straightened out. The people have to know what they're going to get for their money."
"Obamacare is not justifiable reason enough to put millions of people out of work and to create unnecessary hardship on the American public," said Alex Rosado.
"I think too many of you have your own personal interests, but you don't have the country at heart," Lester Brown shared.
"Dear Congress, I want you to toe the line, hold it still and keep doing what you're doing. Hold it," said Karen Cook.
