Astronaut's tweets from space go viral

Meet G. Reid Wiseman. He's living out your childhood dream of being a NASA astronaut, and he's sharing the experience with us mere earthlings via Twitter.

The Baltimore native is currently halfway through a 166-day mission aboard ISS in low Earth orbit.

Around 4 p.m. CST Wiseman tweeted a picture of the launch of two ISS CubeSats. CubeSats are small satellites that are used to test rocket paths planned for upcoming launches.

Two hours later Wiseman tweeted a picture of the Northern Lights from space and it is spectacular.

The tweet gained more than 4,000 retweets in just two hours. Then, he tweeted another picture.

You can follow his companion Alexander Gerst, @Astro_Alex, an ESA astronaut, who appears to enjoy tweeting pictures of crop patterns and what's going on back home.

Be sure to give them a wave!
