Boston Marathon cracking down on 'bib bandits'

BOSTON – Boston Marathon organizers are now investigating several reports of counterfeit bibs being used in Monday's race.

NewsChannel 5 first showed you the photo Thursday night of four runners all wearing the same bib number. They're accused of copying race numbers to run in the race.

The woman on the left of the photo is wearing a shirt from Big River Running Company, based here in St. Louis. The owner says he's furious and doesn't know her.

Race organizers say the "bandits" stretch resources and pose a security threat, and it's time to crack down.
