City testing parking meters that take credit cards

ST. LOUIS (KSDK) – Pesky pockets full of quarters could be a thing of the past if you park on the street downtown.

The City of St. Louis Treasurer's Office is starting a six month on-street parking field test in downtown St. Louis and the Central West End. The test parking meters – part of an ongoing effort to modernize operations – take credit cards.

The test sites are located on 10th Street between Chestnut and Washington Avenue and at the corner of Broadway and Pine in downtown St. Louis. Central West End locations are at Maryland and Euclid – and Laclede and Euclid.

The public may give feedback on the process on the treasurer's website.
