Coats for Kids seeks donations as winter approaches

ST. LOUIS - With the threat of colder weather on the horizon comes the need for more winter clothing, but for some in the St. Louis-area, winter-ready clothing is difficult to come by.

Serving With The Badge, an organization run by officers within the city of St. Louis, is looking to further help their community following a successful run last winter.

The organization is out to"build the community is set out to build relationships, restore trust, and bridge the gap between law enforcement and citizens by mobilizing off-duty officers and first responders to volunteer in the communities they serve".

Lead by former St. Louis Metropolitan Police officer Christian Johnson, Serving With The Bridge is looking for people from all over the St. Louis region to donate to kids.

The coats will be distributed sometime in December to kids in north St. Louis city who need them.

Serving With The Badge has set up five coat drop-off locations throughout St. Louis city:

Speakeasy Thaxton (Downtown): 1009 Olive


House of Goods (South St. Louis): 5911 Southwest


Coffee Cartel (Central West End): 1 Maryland Plaza


Yap Subs and Sandwiches (South St. Louis): 5005 S. Kingshighway


Urban League of Metropolitan St. Louis (Midtown): 3701 Grandel Square


St. Louis Q (North St. Louis): 6300 W. Florissant
