10-year-old abducted in Springfield, Mo., AMBER Alert issued

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – An AMBER Alert has been issued for a 10-year-old Springfield, Mo. girl.

Springfield police say Hailey Owens was abducted from 3247 W. Lombard at 4:48 p.m. Tuesday by a Caucasian male, who may be in his mid-40s, unshaven, with gray hair.

The suspect was last seen driving a gold 2008 Ford Ranger with a Missouri license plate of 1YF454. or 1YS454. It was last seen southbound on Scenic from Grand.

Hailey Owens is described as a Caucasian female standing 5'2" tall, weighing 90 pounds, with long brown hair, brown eyes, and pierced ears. She was last seen wearing blue denim shorts and purple sandals.

According to KY3-TV in Springfield, a neighbor saw a man walk up to Hailey, who was outside, talk to her, and then grab her before throwing her into the Ford Ranger. Her mother told police Hailey was walking to a friend's house, and she doesn't know who the man could have been.

Police say they believe Hailey Owens is in danger. AMBER Alerts have been activated in Oklahoma and Kansas, in case the suspect heads to those areas.
