JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (AP) - Two men are accused in a federal indictment of playing leading roles in what prosecutors say was a $7 million conspiracy to traffic marijuana in six Missouri counties.
Grand jurors in Missouri's Jefferson City returned the indictment Wednesday against 35-year-old Zachary Nutt of Los Angeles, California, and Sedalia, and 34-year-old Nicholas Glaholt of Independence.
The indictment alleges that Nutt and Glaholt participated in a plot to distribute at least 1,000 kilograms of marijuana in Pettis, Cooper, Boone, Morgan, Pulaski and Jackson counties from October 2001 through June 13.
The indictment replaces criminal complaints filed against the two men last month.
Messages seeking comment were left Thursday by The Associated Press for attorneys for Nutt and Glaholt.
