2 shot in Belleville home invasion

An aspiring pastor and his mother are shot inside their own home in the middle of the day.

BELLEVILLE, ILL. - Two people were shot Monday afternoon after an armed robber broke into their house.

It happened around 1 p.m. in the 100 block of Glenview.

According to police, two residents of the home, ages 57 and 27, were shot. They were both breathing and awake at the scene when police arrived.

Officers are looking for a suspect in his late 20s or early 30s who was driving an older white Chevrolet Impala. The suspect, who was wearing dark clothing and has a thin build, was last seen driving east on Main Street.

The victims did not know the suspect, according to police.
