3 arrested for Belleville father's murder

BELLEVILLE, Ill. – Three people have been arrested for the murder of a Belleville father over the weekend.

Anthony Allen of Cape Girardeau, Mo., and Amanda Kent of O'Fallon, Ill. are charged with first-degree murder for the shooting death of Darrin Hayes.

Hayes, 25, was shot to death inside his apartment on Gateway Industrial Drive in Belleville Sunday. He was with his 2-year-old daughter and 2-month-old son.

Court documents accuse Allen of shooting Hayes multiple times during a robbery. Police pulled over a vehicle suspected to be linked to the crime, which led to the arrests.

Deputies with the St. Clair County Sheriff's Department say Allen, Kent, and Hayes all knew each other.

A third suspect, Brittney Moore of Belleville, is charged with obstruction of justice.
