North Ossetia, Russia (CNN) - A special joint police-FSB operation against arms smugglers in Russia's North Ossetia was carried out on April 11th and 12th.

The operation resulted in the arrest of six suspected arms dealers, who allegedly tried to sell three Kalashnikovs and ammunition.

The police also located the suspects' hideout and found bomb components and chemicals.

In total, two sniper rifles, 15 submachine guns, a machine gun, over 250 bullets and more than two kilograms of explosives were seized during the operation.
