St. Louis (KSDK) - A man who posted an ad on Craigslist looking for someone to kill Maplewood police officers has pleaded guilty.
On February 6 32-year-old William Lawrence was arrested by Maplewood police. They found marijuana in his apartment and took a shotgun and .22 caliber rifle.
Lawrence called the police department several times and visited a precinct once demanding his guns back.
On February 29 he posted an ad on Craigslist saying he would pay $1 million for each dead Maplewood police officer and $2 million for a specific detective.
On Monday Lawrence pleaded guilty to a federal murder-for-hire charge.
His sentencing hearing is scheduled for September 18.
