Glendale, CA (KTLA/CNN) - A 20-year-old Glendale, California man has pleaded not guilty to allegedly attacking an elderly woman with a shovel while high on "bath salts."
Robert William White made a court appearance Tuesday on charges of assault with a deadly weapon.
He was arrested last week after police say he hit a neighbor over the head with a shovel.
Witnesses told police that the woman had asked White to stop swinging his shovel at birds, so he turned on her.
When police arrived, White told investigators he had been drinking soda spiked with bath salts.
He remains behind bars on a $75,000 bond until his next court date scheduled for July 5th.
