St. Charles, MO (KSDK) - A man has been apprehended after a St. Charles bank was robbed Wednesday morning.
St. Charles police say around 10 a.m. they received a report of a robbery at Commerce Bank in the 1100 block of First Capitol Drive.
A witness in the area had called police shortly before the robbery to report an occupant of a two tone blue Chevrolet Astro or GMC Safari van. That information was passed to neighboring agencies, and at 10:17 a.m. St. Ann police stopped a vehicle matching that description on eastbound Interstate 70.
When investigators responded to the scene they determined the man in the van was the suspect, and he was then identified by bank employees.
Money was also recovered from the scene.
The suspect's identity will be released after charges are filed.
