St. Charles, MO (KSDK) -A St. Charles, Missouri man has been charged with second-degree murder.
St. Charles police say on May 26, 2012 police and EMS were called to a home in the 400 block of Tower Grove in response to an unconscious female.
The woman, identified as Linda Cerutti, died June 10, 2012.
An investigation revealed Cerutti had a verbal argument with 48-year-old Steven John Martineau. During the argument police say Martineau allegedly knocked Cerutti unconscious, which caused injuries that resulted in her death.
Martineau was taken into custody in May third-degree assault charged from an incident in February 2012 involving Cerutti. He has now been charged with second-degree murder and second-degree assault.
He is held at the St. Charles County Jail on a $50,000 cash-only bond.
