ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KSDK) - The St. Louis Circuit Attorney's Office charged two men for allegedly attacking and robbing a pizza delivery driver last Friday.
According to court documents, the incident occurred December 7 at 11:50 p.m. in the 4200 block of Virginia Avenue. The victim, a driver for Imo's Pizza on S. Spring Avenue, was attacked by two when he arrived at an apartment building to make a delivery.
The victim told police one of the men was armed with a large kitchen knife and threatened to kill him while the other suspect began punching the delivery driver. The two men pinned the driver against a wall and searched through his pockets. The driver struggled to get away, but the suspects continued to attack him. The driver was eventually able to get to his car and flee the scene.
Police said the suspects took approximately $150 in cash, the driver's wallet and cell phone, as well as the pizza delivery order.
Investigators located the two suspects, identified as 19-year-old Auntre Moore and 28-year-old Christopher Moore, in an upstairs apartment in the 4200 block of Virginia. Police said they found the food from the order and the victim identified the two men as his attackers.
Auntre Moore and Christopher Moore were both charged with first-degree robbery and armed criminal action.
Police said Christopher Moore has previous arrests for tampering, resisting arrest and third-degree assault on a law enforcement officer.
Eric Dailey was the victim in this case. The father of a six year old girl says in his ten year career as a pizza delivery driver for the Imo's on South Spring Avenue he was robbed twice. he says the latest attack was the most violent.
"I should have known from being robbed previously never let your guard down. One word of advice for other people is to treat every delivery like it's a potential robbery. No matter how nice the neighborhood is or where you are at," said Dailey.
Meanwhile, the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department announced Monday afternoon that it will hold special safety seminars for delivery drivers at area patrol stations.
