ST. LOUIS (KSDK) - Police are investigating a homicide in north St. Louis.

The incident happened Monday night near the intersection of Semple and Page.

Police say the initial call came in as a person down, and they believed the victim may have been hit by a car.   However, further investigation and witnesses told detectives the victim was actually thrown from a moving vehicle.

Police say the man had a puncture would to his neck, confirming their suspicion the man was murdered.  Police identified the victim as Benny Hill, 53.

Witnesses say a white commercial van was seen leaving the area during the time of the crime.

Police said the van was recovered around 7 a.m. in the 4300 block of Kossuth. They believe it was occupied by Hill and another man at some point during the night.
