ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KSDK) - The woman accused of tying a puppy to a truck is due in court Friday.
Benetta Johnson is charged with misdemeanor animal abuse.
Police say she tied the dog, that's been named "Trooper," to her ex-husband's bumper without his knowledge.
As a result, the dog was dragged a mile and a half down Interstate 55 in November.
Trooper suffered serious injuries, but is recovering at the Humane Society of Missouri.
The pit bull puppy will soon be available for adoption.
