Berkeley double shooting kills one

BERKELEY, Mo. – One person is dead after an overnight double shooting in Berkeley.

The shooting happened around 12:25 a.m. on Washington Avenue near Short Street. A NewsChannel 5 photojournalist could see at least one car with multiple bullet holes.

Police said one vehicle had struck a parked car in the 6000 block of Washington. That moving vehicle was occupied by a male driver and female passenger, both of whom had been shot.

The man was unresponsive, but the woman appeared to be alert. Both were treated at the scene and rushed to a nearby hospital. The male victim later died due to his wounds.
