Centralia, Ill. trio charged with storage unit burglary

ST. CLAIR COUNTY, Ill. (KSDK) – Three Centralia, Ill. residents are accused of burglarizing storage units in Trenton.

Toby W. Gibson, 35; Heather R. Phillips, 38; and Cheryl L. Phillips, 39 are charged with burglary.

Deputies with the St. Clair County Sheriff's Department were called to the 11900 block of Old US Highway 50 in unincorporated Trenton Oct. 31 for a report of a burglary of storage units. The victim said he rented two units and found locks to the doors had been cut off. Multiple items inside the units were stolen, and valued around $5,400.

Five other units were found with cut locks, but no other items were reported stolen.

Gibson, Heather Phillips, and Cheryl Phillips were identified as suspects. They were apprehended and stolen items were recovered.

All three suspects are held at the Clinton County Jail. Gibson's bond is set at 50,000. Bond for Heather Phillips and Cheryl Phillips is set at $25,000 each.
