Chesterfield police searching for hit-and-run person of interest

CHESTERFIELD, Mo. (KSDK) – Police are investigating a person of interest related to the fatal hit-and-run accident along Olive Boulevard Thursday.

Police are searching for 54-year-old Yelena Pelts as a person of interest in an accident that killed Roy Joseph, of Chesterfield. Joseph's body was found in a preschool yard Thursday morning.

Evidence found at the scene of the accident lead investigators to a 2004 white Toyota Sienna minivan, which is owned by Pelts, but she has not been charged in the incident.

Chesterfield police are asking anyone with knowledge of the Pelts's whereabouts or those who might have seen the accident, Joseph or the car, can contact the police at 636-537-3000. Also anyone who had contact with the victim is asked to call police.
