Couple indicted for O'Fallon, Ill. bank robbery

ST. CLAIR COUNTY, Illinois (KSDK) – A Collinsville, Ill. couple have been indicted for the robbery of an O'Fallon, Ill. credit union, according to U.S. Attorney Stephen Wigginton.

Steve and Denise Dodson face charges for conspiracy to commit bank robbery and bank robbery of Scott Credit Union in May 2013.

According to court documents, Steve entered the bank with a mask over his face, while Denise Dodson waited in the car. Steve Dodson then told two credit union employees that he had a gun and took $100,000 from the credit union.

They both fled the scene.

They face up to five years in prison on the conspiracy charge and up to 20 years on the bank robbery charge, according to Wigginton. They also face a fine up to $250,000. Prior to the indictment, both have been serving time in Illinois Department of Corrections for burglary charges.

They're currently being held without bond pending trial, which is scheduled to start Aug. 25.
