Detectives investigating after fatal north St. Louis shooting

35-year-old Shelly Hampton was shot and killed Monday evening.

ST. LOUIS - A man is facing charges in connection with a shooting that left a man dead in north St. Louis Monday evening.

At around 6:15, police responded to a call on the 8900 block of Riverview Boulevard. When they arrived, they found 35-year-old Shelly Hampton suffering a gunshot wound to the neck. He was pronounced dead on the scene.

Homicide detectives were called in to investigate and found Hampton was shot by Arthur Bradford, a 38-year-old man police described as Hampton's acquaintance, while Hampton argued with someone else. Bradford fled the scene but returned and talked to the police. He was taken into custody.
