Drugs found in car after police chase ends in crash

TROY, MO. - A Florissant, Missouri, man who had outstanding warrants was taken into custody Thursday after a multi-county police chase ended in a crash.

A press release from the Troy, Missouri, Police Department said JaJuan Shambley driving erratically in Troy. When the officer attempted to pull the vehicle over, Shambley drove into oncoming traffic and fled.

During the pursuit, officer found that Shambley had outstanding felony warrants, so they continued to follow him. He drove from Troy to Wentzville before crashing near the intersection of Highway K and Christie Marie.

After the crash, Shambley tried to run away, but was caught and taken into custody.

The press release said officers found controlled substances and drug paraphernalia in his car.

Shambly was taken to the hospital to be evaluated, but was released into police custody. He is being held for the previous warrants, and is awaiting further charges.
