Former police officer faces child porn charges

A former Missouri police officer is facing dozens of felony charges, accused of storing child pornography on his computer and sharing them online.

Investigators in Stafford County, Va. determined Thomas Joseph Mueller of Pacific, Mo., posted images containing child pornography to the internet on 16 different dates. When officers executed a search warrant, they found several hundred pornographic images on his computer depicting children.

During the investigation, it was determined Mueller was previously a law enforcement officer in Missouri and had been charged in the past with sexual exploitation of a minor.

Mueller has been charged with 70 felony counts of possession of child pornography.

He will be extradited to Stafford County.
