Four people arrested for Alton home invasion

ALTON, Ill. – Four St. Louis residents have been arrested for a home invasion that took place earlier this month.

Rachel Barnes, 24; Christopher Hill, 27; DeMarco Smith, 20; and Curtis Wallace, 38, have been all been arrested with armed robbery and home invasion, according to Alton police. Hill and Wallace also face attempted murder charges.

Police say officers responded to a home in the 1300 block of Pearl Street Jan. 16, where they found a 55-year-old man beaten with a gun, pipe wrench, and fists before he was stabbed.

The victim was taken to an area hospital for treatment. He is expected to recover.

The suspects were taken into custody by officers in Alton, St. Louis County, and the City of St. Louis.

Barnes and Smith are held on $150,000 bond. Bond for Hill and Wallace is set at $250,000.
