Granite City officer-involved shooting kills man

GRANITE CITY, Ill. (KSDK) – An early morning officer-involved shooting resulted in the death of a 45-year-old man at a Granite City service station, according to Granite City Chief Richard Miller.

Police responded to the station in the 3200 block of Edwardsville Road for an ongoing incident.

Officers found Stephen Minsh in a grassy area behind the station where a threat was made toward officers, according to authorities.

A shooting occurred, which killed Minsh who is a resident of St. Charles, Mo., according to Chief Miller.

No other injuries have been reported.

Police have recovered a gun from the scene and continue to investigate. Illinois State Police are assisting with the investigation.
