CAHOKIA, ILL. - A man was charged Tuesday, less than a week after the Major Case Squad was activated to investigate a homicide in Cahokia, Illinois.
Captain Dennis Plew of the St. Clair County Police Department said they were called to Judith Drive in unincorporated Cahokia at around 10:30 Friday morning.
When they arrived, the found Jamell Bridges, 24, unresponsive in the roadway. He was taken to the hospital where he died from a gunshot wound.
On Tuesday, 24-year-old Demarcus Scott of East St. Louis was charged with one count of murder. Charging documents said Scott shot Bridges in the head, killing him.
He is being held on a $1 million bond.
