A man accused of inappropriately touching a girl under the age of 15 in Lincoln County witnesses he "messed up" when confronted about the incident.
According to a Facebook post from the Lincoln County Sheriff's Office, the victim told family members on Oct. 16 she was touched inappropriately by Dylan Phillips, 27, as she slept.
Police said Philips, a Wentzville resident, was allowed to sleep at the family's home on the 600 block of Mennemeyer Road after a bond fire earlier in the night, where he became intoxicated. Police said he stayed at the home rather than driving home.
Philips refused to talk to investigators, but witnesses told detectives they could hear him saying "I messed up" when confronted about the incident.
He was charged with felony sexual misconduct involving a child under the age of 15, and is being held in the Lincoln County Jail on a $25,000, cash-only bond with no contact with the victim.
