Man arrested for Imperial Phillips 66 robbery

JEFFERSON COUNTY, Mo. (KSDK) – Jefferson County sheriff deputies arrested an 18-year-old for a robbery in Imperial, Mo. last week.

James Stephan faces first-degree robbery and armed criminal action charges related to a reported robbery at Phillips 66 gas station in the 5200 block of Warren Road.

According to Sheriff Glenn Boyer, the suspect walked into the store wearing a full-faced ski mask and asked the cashier about the price of cigarettes. The suspect then walked around the counter holding a knife and demanded money from the register.

The clerk handed over an undisclosed amount of cash to the suspect, who then fled on foot.

Stephan is being held in Jefferson County Jail on a $50,000 cash-only bond.
