Man captured, arrested for Troy Buchanan High School theft

LINCOLN COUNTY, Mo. (KSDK) – Missouri Highway Patrol captured a man accused of stealing a safe from Troy Buchanan High School earlier this week.

Missouri Highway Patrol arrested Steven Ueltzen, 30, near a Bourbeuse River access off of Highway O in Franklin County Wednesday night. In his van, authorities found tools believed to be from the high school's shop class as well as a .22 long rifle.

Authorities received information the family of Ueltzen's girlfriend, Sabrina Frey, after she was dropped off at a Greyhound bus station in St. Louis. Frey told family members that Ueltzen was headed south.

Surveillance video captured images of the suspect, believed to be Ueltzen. The safe was recovered at the Logan Conservation Area Tuesday night. The door had been pried open and the contents removed.

There are warrants for Ueltzen's arrest out of Lincoln County and four other agencies for domestic assault, endangering the welfare of a child, and unlawful use of a weapon.
