Man charged in south city bar stabbing

ST. LOUIS (KSDK) – A 33-year-old man faces charges in a stabbing that took place outside of a south St. Louis bar Thursday.

Andrew Barnett has been charged with first-degree assault, according to St. Louis police.

Barnett and another man began arguing inside of a bar in the 6300 block of Alabama and were asked to leave, according to police. They got into a physical fight, and Barnett stabbed the man in the neck and abdomen.

The man remains in critical/unstable condition. The two men did know each other, according to police.

Barrett is being held in St. Louis County Jail on a $1 million cash-only bond.
