Man charged in St. Charles bank robbery

ST. CHARLES, Mo. (KSDK) – A 47-year-old Hazelwood man faces charges following a St. Charles bank robbery Monday morning, according to St. Charles Police.

Joseph Meyers has been charged with first-degree attempted robbery and making a terrorist threat.

According to police, Meyers threatened a bomb in the Bank of America branch in the 1300 block of South 5th Street prior to robbing it.

He fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of money.

The St. Louis Metropolitan Airport police bomb unit found no explosives after the incident.

Meyers is being held on $100,000 cash-only bond.
