Martial arts teacher pleads guilty to child sex charges

BELLEVILLE, Ill. (KSDK) – A Belleville, Ill. martial arts instructor pleaded guilty to child sex charges Friday morning, according to U.S. Attorney for Southern District of Illinois Stephen Wigginton.

Christopher Horton, 20, of Highland, Ill. pleaded guilty to five counts of sexual exploitation of a minor and one attempt of sexual exploitation.

According to Wigginton, Horton recorded himself engaging in sexual acts with three children between the ages of 6 and 10 and attempted to do the same with a fourth child. Authorities found 57 video files of child pornography of Horton's cell phone, which were created between May 2012 and February 2013.

Horton faces up to a total of 150 years, a $250,000 fine and possibly as much as a lifetime supervised release.

He is scheduled to be sentenced March 7, 2013.
