North County man charged with statutory rape

ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. - The St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney's Office charged a 20-year-old north St. Louis County man with statutory rape.

According to court documents, Seth Schell was charged with one count of first-degree statutory rape and two counts of first-degree statutory sodomy. He's being held in St. Louis County Jail on $100,000 bond.

St. Louis County police detectives were contacted by a local school resource officer, who told them a 12-year-old student reported being sexually assaulted. Investigators determined Schell made contact with the victim and later met the victim in person.

Schell is accused of performing and receiving oral sex from the victim, and having sexual intercourse as well.
