Police investigate shooting of brothers in north St. Louis

ST. LOUIS (KSDK) - Homicide detectives are investigating a Sunday night shooting involving two brothers who were hit by gunfire while they were walking in a north St. Louis neighborhood.

According to the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department, the shooting happened around 8:30 p.m. in the 2600 block of Burd Avenue.

One of the victims, a 20-year-old man, was in critical condition after being struck in the head, jaw, neck, and arm. His 16-year-old brother was also injured after being wounded in both of his legs.

Police have identified the shooter and are continuing their search for his whereabouts. Investigators said the shooting was the result of an ongoing dispute between the two victims and the alleged shooter.

No names have been released at this time.
