St. Charles man accused of housing meth lab after standoff

ST. CHARLES, Mo. (KSDK) – Authorities discovered evidence of a meth lab in a home where a man had barricaded himself inside and set a fire an hour earlier, according to St. Charles Police Department.

Sunday, police responded to a home in the 300 block of S. Fourth Street, where a man had armed himself with a knife and firearm and reportedly was suicidal.

After setting the home on fire, the unidentified man left the home and was arrested at 6:44 p.m.

St. Charles Fire Department extinguished the fire, which caused minor damage.

The man was taken to an area hospital in serious condition.

The investigation remains ongoing.
