St. Charles robbery suspect charged

ST. CHARLES, Mo. (KSDK) – St. Charles police have charged a man accused of following a woman from a gas station and robbing her when she parked her vehicle elsewhere.

Darval Lewis, 24, of Madison, Wis., is charged with second-degree robbery.

Lewis is accused of following the victim from a gas station to the rear of the 200 block of N. Main Street around 7:15 p.m. Tuesday, and robbing her when she exited her vehicle.

The victim recognized the suspect as the person standing behind her in line at the gas station. He demanded her money, grabbed her purse, threw the victim to the ground, and ran away with her wallet. The victim was not injured.

Lewis is held on a $50,000 cash-only bond.
