Suspects in custody after south city triple shooting

ST. LOUIS – Suspects are in custody after a triple shooting in south St. Louis Friday afternoon.

Leah K. Freeman, a spokesperson for the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department, says officers were called to the 4400 block of Tholozan near Alfred at 12:42 p.m. for a report of a large group of men fighting, with shots fired.

A police officer at the scene told NewsChannel 5 the fight stemmed from an argument Thursday. On Friday, one man was punched, and two other men pulled out a handgun and a long gun and started shooting.

The tree victims were dropped off an area hospital. One man was shot in his thigh, the second was shot in his abdomen, and the third was shot in his leg. All three are listed as stable at an area hospital.

The suspects were taken into custody a short time later, but charges have not been filed.

Police originally believed four people were injured in the shooting, but that information was inaccurate.
