Teacher confiscates gun from Roosevelt High student

ST. LOUIS – A teacher confiscated a gun from a student Thursday afternoon at Roosevelt High School.

A spokesperson for the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department says shortly before 3:30 p.m. a group of students got into a fight outside the school.

The fight moved inside, and a 17-year-old male was seen taking a gun out from his backpack.

A teacher saw the gun, secured the student, and took the weapon.

When police arrived they found the student had a second firearm inside his backpack. He was taken into police custody.

A second 17-year-old male student was taken into custody for his involvement in the fight.
