Teacher, track coach accused of locker room recording

WAYNE COUNTY, Ill. – A high school teacher and track coach is accused of unlawfully recording inside a girls locker room at the school.

Timothy C. Going, 43, is charged with unauthorized video recording victims under the age of 18, unlawful placing of video device with victims under the age of 18, unauthorized videotaping, and unlawful placing of a video device in public.

Det. Sgt. Wade Gummersheimer says the Fairview Heights Police Department was notified May 21 by Illinois State Police that they had a man in custody who they believe recorded teens without their knowledge.

Going, a teacher at Fairfield Community High School, is also accused of recording a member of the school track team Nov. 1 at Super 8 Motel in Fairview Heights. Police believe the victim is under the age of 18.

Bail is set at $250,000. Going is held at the Wayne County Jail.
