Teen killed in north St. Louis identified

ST. LOUIS – A teen shot and killed Thursday afternoon in north St. Louis has been identified.

Police were called to the 4100 block of Natural Bridge at 2:42 p.m. for a report of a shooting. The victim, identified as 19-year-old Jose Johnson, was found in the rear alley of the 4100 block of Lexington.

Johnson was shot in his head and upper torso. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Schron Jackson, a spokesperson for the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department, says two men driving a light gray 2002-2004 Buick Skylark pulled up to Johnson in the 3600 block of Harris and started shooting.

Johnson ran from the scene and collapsed where police found his body.

Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call CrimeStoppers at 866-371-TIPS. Callers can remain anonymous and may be eligible for a reward.
