Three charged with robbing St. Charles cab drivers

ST. CHARLES, Mo. (KSDK) – Three people have been arrested and charged with robbing cab drivers in St. Charles, Mo.

Torres Juwan Jacobs, 18 and Christian Brandan Mosley, 18, are each charged with first-degree robbery. LaShawn Donnell Wooten, 17, is charged with attempted first-degree robbery.

Police say the first robberies occurred Nov. 10 and Nov. 15 in the Trails of Sunbrook apartment complex off Harry S. Truman Boulevard. Police notified local cab companies to call authorities if they received fare information from a certain telephone number.

On Nov. 20 St. Charles County Cab called police, saying they received a call for a fare in the 1700 block of Trains of Sunbrook.

Undercover officers from the St. Charles Police Department drove the taxi to the location, while plainclothes officers watched the area from the parking lot.

When the cab arrived, two of the suspects approached the vehicle. One of the suspects, later identified as Jacobs, held what appeared to be a firearm. Officers waited until the suspects were close to the vehicle to announce themselves. Jacobs and Mosley were taken into custody and a replica firearm was recovered.

A third suspect was seen running from the area. An officer pursued, and that suspect, identified as Wooten, was taken into custody.

Each suspect is held in the St. Charles County Jail on a $75,000 cash-only bond.
