Two men killed in separate incidents two miles apart Friday

ST. LOUIS - Police are investigating after two men were killed in separate shootings in St. Louis Friday.

The first shooting happened at around 9:15 a.m. on the 4100 block of East Lexington Avenue near Fairground Park.

Officers responded to the scene where they found 37-year-old Edward Jones lifeless in the street. He had multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced in the scene.

Then, about three hours later, officers responded to the 2700 block of Dodier Street, about two miles away. When they arrived, they found 24--ear-old Jerome Courtney in a vacant lot suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was also pronounced dead on the scene.

Investigations into both of these shootings are ongoing.
