Two officers injured chasing after man on foot

Officers chased and arrested two suspects near Page and Academy. One officer hurt his arm jumping a fence and the second injured his knee.

ST. LOUIS - Two officers were injured while chasing a man who fled a vehicle in St. Louis Thursday night.

According to the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department, officers pulled over a car with two men inside near Page Boulevard and Academy Avenue just before 7 p.m. After the car came to a stop, one of the men jumped out of the car and ran off. 

Multiple officers chased after him, and the man was eventually taken into custody. During the chase two officers were injured.

One of the officers suffered an arm injury while jumping a fence. He was taken to the hospital for treatment. The other officer suffered a minor knee injury.

The other man in the car was also taken into custody.
