FORT COLLINS, Colo. -- A Colorado doctor has an unusual offer for anyone with extra tickets to Sunday's AFC Championship Game between the Denver Broncos and the New England Patriots: a free vasectomy.
Dr. Steven Broman of Fort Collins is offering to perform the $1,000-plus surgery in return for tickets. A long-time season-ticket holder, Broman and his family will be at Sunday's game anyway. The extra tickets, he said, would go to his staff.
"The only people who wouldn't have to pay me in tickets is Tom Brady, but I'd have to do the operation before the game," Broman said, laughing.
This isn't the first time Broman has made such an offer. He made a similar one in 2006 when the Broncos played the Pittsburgh Steelers. That year, he said, he came close to making a deal.
"I had a guy who was ready to pull the trigger, but he said he had only one ticket, so I offered to only do one side," Broman said. "He didn't think that was very funny."
Broman said he can perform a vasectomy in his office as an outpatient procedure, and recovery takes about 48 hours.
And if the Broncos win Sunday -- Broman is confident -- he's making a similar offer for Super Bowl tickets.
"I'd be happy to score some Super Bowl tickets," he said.
