Head of School Sr. Lucie Nordmann, RSCJ welcomed Mr. Stan Musial and his wife, Mrs. Lil Musial, to Villa Duchesne and Oak Hill School for the 2011 field day.
Frontenac, Mo (KSDK) -- Nearly 1,000 people paid tribute to Lil Musial, Stan Musial's wife, at a field day event.
Students, parents, and faculty of Villa Duchesne and Oak Hill Commmunity School paid tribute to Lil during the closing ceremonies. Lil passed away at the age of 91.
The Musials are longstanding members of the Villa Duchesne and Oak Hill School community. Last year, the Musials joined the school for its field day and celebrated Stan receiving the Presidential Medal of Freedom.
This year's field day celebrated the 2011 World Series Champions St. Louis Cardinals. Cardinals General Manager John Moesliak attended to accept a check from the school for Cardinals Care, the team's non-profit foundation.
