Creve Coeur, MO (KSDK) - In the middle of the heat wave, many area school districts are taking precautions for their summer school students.
Like a lot of schools, Parkway Northeast Middle School is air conditioned.
Still, students spend a lot of time outdoors or participating in sports.
Each child has a water bottle and is encouraged to take frequent hydration breaks.
Because of the expected high temperatures Thursday, all activities are likely to be moved indoors.
Parkway school officials say unless the air conditioning fails, there will be classes even when it's really hot.
