Water back on at SEMO after pipe break

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (AP) - City water service has returned to Southeast Missouri State University after a broken water main forced the Cape Girardeau campus to cancel classes earlier this week.

The water main was repaired Wednesday night but could not be activated until the city completed safety tests Friday.

Classes are scheduled to resume Tuesday morning, but the school wants students who live in residence halls to return from their unexpected break by Labor Day.
